Supporting Infants with a History of Prenatal Substance Exposure:
Strategies for Building Regulation & Responsive Relationships

Infants with a history of perinatal exposure to opioids, alcohol, and other substances are at risk for a number of problems, including neurodevelopmental disorders, postnatal trauma, and struggling family systems.​ This session provides an overview of the characteristics and needs of infants with Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS). Practical strategies for infant regulation, relational attachment, and participation in family routines will be shared.
