Self-Regulation in Adolescents
Helping adolescents from hard places take ownership for their behavioral responses to sensory stimuli and their self-regulation can be challenging. Additionally, some of the strategies younger students use for self-regulation do not work well for adolescents. Practical strategies for teaching adolescents about self-regulation and supporting ownership for their behavioral responses to sensory stimuli will be discussed. Application of the strategies to school, home, work and community environments also will be presented.
