All Four Pre-conference Intensives

SoulCare

We cannot lead where we have not been. So how then can we lead our children to healing, rest and healthy lives if we are not first examining our own souls and seeking that for ourselves? We will gently examine areas that might need healing, rest or better healthy practices and work together to make tangible plans to address those areas.

We often arrive at conferences like this exhausted and wanting quick answers for “broken” families or children, but perhaps it all begins with us. In this pre-conference, we will offer ourselves the gift of a day spent in reflection, grace and giving ourselves space. We will honor our own “broken” spaces, our grief and our pain. We will grieve those hard things and move toward healing. We will learn ways the body, mind and soul heal and leave with tangible plans to bring that healing into our everyday lives.

Overcoming Blocked Care: What to Do When You Run Out of Compassion?

Is there a wall growing between you and your child and does your heart feel trampled? When our children experience early adversity, it activates a premature defense mechanism that may put them in a chronic state of survival. This results in something called blocked trust. As a result, some children do not respond to efforts of caregiving. You may begin to feel ineffective and experience a sense of apathy called blocked care. In this workshop you will:

  • Learn brain science to understand your feelings and make powerful changes.
  • Gain the motivation and endurance to pursue a relationship with your child.
  • Overcome feelings of shame and guilt.
  • Learn step-by-step practices you need to reclaim the parent you know you can be.
