Frequently Asked Questions

Refresh is a Christian conference designed for foster and adoptive parents, kinship providers, grandparents, and others who care for orphaned and vulnerable children.  We understand firsthand that this journey can be difficult and lonely. The Refresh Conference is a time for you to escape from the distractions and chaos of life and be physically, emotionally, spiritually refreshed, and inspired. Refresh is not a foster/adoptive recruiting conference. It is all about supporting parents like you on your post placement journey.

The Refresh Seattle Conference is a Christian conference hosted by Overlake Christian Church, but the conference is not limited to only people of the same faith. All are welcome.

During the conference there are 4 main sessions, plus a variety of workshops broken into breakout sessions , on topics designed specifically to equip you on this journey.

For you overachievers, you are welcome to attend! However, this conference is not a recruiting event. Rather, the Refresh conference is about supporting those who are already parenting non-biological kids.

You can take advantage of the early bird pricing of $64/person until December 2. The regular price is $79/person from December 2, 2019-February 7, 2020. After February 7, 2020, it will be the at the door pricing of $89/person.

Please note there will be a small service fees added on top of the registration fees by the registration site.

Unfortunately, no. Pricing is based per person.

Unfortunately, registration is for the entire conference, but please feel free to come to whichever portions you are able.

We will refund your registration fee minus the service fees and an additional admin fee of $25, up to 30 days prior to the conference. After that we are very sorry, but we are unable to issue refunds.

Childcare will not be available at the Refresh Conference. Due to the nature of topics discussed and to provide participants with the opportunity to relax, though we love kids (and we really love kids), this conference is a “Kid Free” event.

This is a “KID FREE” event. That means as much as we love kids (and we really love kids) we are trying to create an environment where parents and caregivers are able to relax, unwind and of course be Refreshed. So please no children of any age and no exceptions. Our participants thank you!!

Meals are not included in the regular Friday/Saturday conference registration nor for the Thursday pre-conference workshops. But we will be providing snacks during the conference. And if you attend the mom’s gathering or dad’s gathering on Saturday morning, breakfast is included as part of the gathering event.

We will not be able to meet every dietary need so please plan ahead and be prepared to provide meals for yourself.

No. In order to keep the price of the conference as affordable as possible, we have decided to not include lunch for the pre-conference or the conference days. But there are many affordable options onsite and in the local community to grab lunch.

Yes, our conference couldn’t happen unless we have a group of volunteers! The volunteer link will be up on the website by December. Meanwhile, feel free to email with question.

Unfortunately, no discounts or childcare are available for volunteers. But we do have a limited number of scholarships available for attending the conference for folks who need assistance. Feel free to fill out the scholarship application, if needed.

The focus of Refresh is all about post-placement support. As such, we will have resource tables available from local post placement support organizations during Refresh.

We will also have a handful of resources (most of them authored by the speakers and guest here at the Refresh conference) available at the giftshop. There is a range of items available from books to t-shirts to small gifts.

We like to select exhibit/resource table participants which emphasize free or low cost post-adoption/placement support for a wide range of families. If your ministry or organization meets this criteria and would like to have a Resource Table at the Refresh Conference, please complete the application here. If you have more questions, feel free to email
