Ashley Boswell

Ashley is the founder of Shepherd Youth Ranch, a non-profit organization that was founded in 2004 and provides equine assisted therapy to over 700 people a year suffering from trauma.
She has over 23 years of experience in trauma therapy with populations that include: youth and families suffering from trauma, foster and adoptive families, victims of human trafficking, veterans, victims of physical, emotional and sexual abuse, children with autism, youth and adults suffering from PTSD, women suffering from relationship trauma and those suffering from anxiety and depression.
In 2019 Ashley launched Shepherd Academy which provides online and in-person certification, training and educational resources to individuals and organizations who aspire to leverage their horses for God’s greater purpose. Shepherd Academy’s Biblically Based Equine Assisted Program Certification empowers, certifies, and trains individuals and organizations worldwide to create their own programs in their local communities.
Ashley is an ordained minister and holds a Master’s degree in Christian Counseling from Southeastern Seminary. Currently, she is a PhD candidate in Christian Counseling through the National Christian Counselors Association.
Ashley’s compassion, servant heart and energizing spirit are evident in her relationships with people and horses.
